Dr. Grant is a native Vermonter, who spent her childhood riding dressage with her grandmother. She competed in dressage throughout her youth and then through college with The University of Vermont Dressage Team.
While at the UVM, Calsey studied biology and after graduation helped conduct research for the UVM Orthopedic Department. Working life showed Calsey that she needed to turn her passion for horses into a profession. Calsey, and her soon to be husband Caleb, moved to Missouri where she study Veterinary Medicine. While quite the change from the Northeast, Missouri provided a wonderful, well-rounded education, fantastic sports events, and the chance to fulfill the dream of pursuing barrel racing.
After graduation she completed a year-long internship at the Equine Clinic at OakenCroft. Upon completing her rigorous internship, she was thrilled at the opportunity to join the practice as an associate veterinarian, and make upstate New York her permanent home. Calsey had the opportunity to become certified in Animal Chiropractic, an area that she is very excited about.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, snuggled on the couch with her lab Penny, two cats Rodeo and Lucy, and spending time with her 2 mares, a Quarter Horse named Fancy and a Hanoverian named Dutchess. Calsey and her husband have recently moved to Greenville, NY.
Calsey has written articles on complementary therapies including exercises clients can perform between visits. Check it out on our blog page.
