Ultrasonography is used for multiple reasons. It is primarily used for soft tissue imaging, although occasionally we may try to use it for other purposes. ECO has two digital ultrasounds which offers superior image quality compared to the traditional analog ultrasound. This machine is equipped with two probes—one is best used for lower limbs (e.g. flexor tendons) and one that can be very effective on internal organs (e.g., lungs, heart, liver, GI tract, eyes, etc.). Because this ultrasound is digital, we can archive and save these ultrasound images and send them electronically anywhere! Ultrasound is a key tool for reproduction as well, and ECO has multiple machines dedicated for this use.
