Alicia Greulich

Alicia has been an avid horse lover since birth, she practically grew up on the back of a horse. She took every possible opportunity to be at the barn, doing extra chores for the owner to earn free rides on the lesson horses. Alicia also enjoyed hanging out at the barn as a young girl on the days that the vet or farrier came, she loved to ask questions and be involved in what was going on, even if she didn’t understand it. The older she got, the more she wanted to learn, she would spend hours and hours reading about horses, she was like a sponge, she couldn’t soak up enough knowledge.

As a teenager she spent a lot of time riding, her own horse, and others, to improve her skill. She loved competing at local shows on the weekends with her barn friends, and by her last year of showing as a junior she had qualified for WNEPHA, MHC, and NEHC finals, which were her biggest accomplishments. As much as she loved going home with ribbons as a young teen, after buying her current mount, Ella, at the time a green broke track trained thoroughbred, she learned that the color of the ribbon you brought home (or didn’t) didn’t really matter at all, as long as you learned something, or improved yourself, you had won.

In her free time, you will find Alicia in the barn, probably giving her mare a good grooming, and spending some quality time with her. She also enjoys spending time with her chosen family, and twin sister, when she can find the time between trips to the barn. Alicia’s love and passion for horses has brought her to Oakencroft. She feels strongly about giving animals a voice, and helping them in any and every way possible to live a long, healthy, happy life!
