Dr. Taylor Huffman, DVM
Dr. Huffman is a born and raised midwesterner. Growing up in rural Indiana, she probably knew how to drive a tractor before she could form full sentences (although unless it's an old Ford, you're probably out of luck if you ask her now). Animals of all kinds were certainly the highlight of any event she frequented and from a young age she knew veterinary medicine was the path for her.
Even though cattle were more common than horses in her family, Taylor never could quite shake the fascination and she found horses wherever she could. From Christmas present riding lessons to eventually teaching beginner riders and caring for horses as summer camp staff, she snatched every opportunity to learn and be around horses.
After completing her BS in animal science with an equine emphasis at Andrews University in Michigan, Dr. Huffman left behind the USA to complete her DVM at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts. Following vet school she began working at a clinic back in Indiana where she developed some of her key interests such as general wellness, dentistry, reproduction, and alternative medicine.
Taylor loves working with horses and their owners to find the right balance and encourage the bond that horses and their people share. She is thrilled to be able to serve you and your equine companions!
In their spare time Taylor and her husband Dan love to travel, backpack/hike, scuba dive and spend time with friends and family (human and animal alike). Their own small menagerie consists of 4 cats (Merlin, Neville, Iroh, and Salem) and 2 dogs (Izzy and Persephone).
