Andreá Krahforst-Lang, LVT

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Andreá grew up near the New York/Massachusetts border overlooking the Berkshires. Horses have always been a part of her life –with her love for them coming from her mother, who currently works with Hackney ponies. Her love and appreciation for Animal Medicine roots from her late father who was a Licensed Vet Tech for 50 years, working with both large and small animals. Andreá has had horses in her backyard for all of her life. Her first horse Molasses, a grade pony, was given to her when she was five years old by her mom. Molasses still roams the pasture with her Morgan pasture mate CBMF Spitfire “Molly”.

Caring for Molasses and spending much of her childhood at a local Morgan and Hackney pony training barn taught Andreá about horse husbandry and handling at a very young age. Andreá has always been attracted to the medical aspect of the equine world and knew she wanted to combine this interest with her love for horses as her life’s work. She attended Saint Michael’s College in Burlington, VT for two years before transferring to SUNY Delhi. In 2018, she received her degree in Veterinary Science Technology and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Upon graduation, Andreá joined Oakencroft as an LVT.

At home, Andreá enjoys spending time with her animal family –which includes Molasses, Molly, her pit bull Chief, Woody the retired hunting Beagle, Omar the Cat, her 2 goats Sunny and Grits, and two guinea pigs named Lautes-Schwein and Pumpkin.
